Bio

Hi. My name is Carl and I go by CF Smith for my music endeavors.  I live near the scenic Hood Canal on the Olympic Peninsula of western Washington State. 

I started playing guitar as a teenager, and like many kids of my generation, I dreamed of becoming a rock star.

When that didn’t pan out, my guitars mostly sat in a closet for many years while I pursued a “practical” career as a public servant.  When I retired some years ago, I dusted off my guitars and rediscovered my joy of creating music,  and I intend to keep writing, playing and recording music as long as I enjoy it.

My music is heavily influenced by blues styles, with some country and rock styles thrown in too. I'm actually new to recording and having my music online, as I just created this site in the summer of 2026.

All of the songs here  were written, performed, and recorded by me at my home, using some basic equipment.

Although my songs may lack the polish of more professionally produced music, I hope you will still find something to like about them.
